TD’s challenge, day 2

Publicado: 31/03/2010 en Tommy Damani's challenge

OK, second day of this weird journey. Breakfast was reallly good, mixed 1/2 cup of oats and 1/2 whole grain cheerios-looking-cereal, and 1 cup 0% milk. Also coffee w/splenda.

Didn’t felt hunger all morning and my sandwich for lunch was very filling too. Trouble landed around 7 PM. My tummy started to get noisy. Then, the hunger cramps came along. Then, there was the void. That sinking void I used to call stomach. My peeps didn’t really helped either; they had pie lying around, they had rice (oh, carbs! How I miss thee) in the kitchen, there was talk about deep fried goods around me while I prepared my humble salad. Sabotage!!

But I stayed true and eat my salad and nothing more. I did “cheat” though… Well, not really. Tommy said that I can have some milk with my coffee. So I stretched that a little bit and add 1-2 Tbsp of plain yogurt to my salad since I can’t have any olive oil in it I thought  yogurt would give it some moisture without really cheating.

Then my own stupidity enters tonight. I got online and between tweets and facebook I had to start to surf the web for porn. Food porn, that is, you sickos! I’m a foodie and have this whole bible-lenght of bookmarks of food blogs, food videos, recipes sites, all with those glossy-paper photos of food with the pretty dishes and the parsley sprinkled on top… OMG! OMG! OMFG!!!!!! I just took my lighter and burn my hand for a few seconds to snap out of it. That didn’t take so I started to remove a fingernail with a fork, and when I was half way through… the munchies went away. Safe!

Breakfast is packed, lunch is packed, and only 3 more days for the weekend. I know that’s gonna be good, since all “diets” have cheat days or cheats meals, maybe there are some yummy carbs coming my way?

In the working out deparment, I’m sorry to say I didn’t delivered 😦 I WAS going to attend a Body Combat class, but I couldn’t. I still have trouble to walk – the soreness from that first jog is still killing me! Honest to God, I was worry today that people at my job would think I was drunk. I really tried to walk normally but then something would happen and my quads were not able to stabilize me and I looked drunk. But, if I know my body, tomorrow I should be fine so our feature presentation should be (hopefully) Jogging, the secuel AND TD’s workout n°1.

You are hilarious! I love reading your blog about TD diet as I am also giving it a try. I agree with you that it is a good diet for those who are already eating fairly clean, but need to tighten down for a few weeks. The second day/evening was my hungriest as well. I kept waking up that night with a painful tummy that was wanting more food. I do find that I am pretty hungry by about 4 in the afternoon, but that is the time I head out to the gym. Once I work out, the hunger is calmed down for a bit and I can delay dinner.

Great job on the first run! 30 minutes is a long run to start off with. I do about 15 to 20 minutes and am slowly going to build up to 30 minutes. I have a bad knee (ACL reconstruction followed by a second surgery for the meniscus), so have to really watch it running. The pressure is not great for the knee.

    Keep up the great work!

Thank you Joann! Glad we are in the same pace. Jogging with a knee injury is harder, but not impossible – maybe a little more money needs to be expend on the right shoes – but it’s totally doable (sp?)The hunger it does not scares me. But the repetitive eating… another story. I fear I might not eat another avocado or chicken after this 6 weeks, ever… ets keep going and lets see whats happen, allright? 😉
